How to fix the address and phone number on your Facebook Page
Your Facebook Page is often the second result customers see after Google, and its address and phone are copied by other apps. NAPCHKR finds the Page through Google search results and compares the details Google shows, so a fix can take a few days to appear in the audit.
Edit the contact details
- On desktop, open your Page and switch into it (click your profile picture, then the Page). Choose the About tab, then Contact and basic info.
- Click the pencil next to the Address, Phone or Website, make the change and Save. Each field has its own audience setting; leave it on Public.
- In the Facebook app, open the Page, tap Edit or the three-dot menu, then Edit page info or About. Meta Business Suite also exposes the same fields under Settings, Page info.
Contact changes publish immediately. There is no review step.
Address settings worth checking
- Turn on Has a street address and enter it exactly as Google has it, including the suite number. If you work from home, keep the city and turn the street address off, as you would on Google.
- Make sure the map pin lands on your building; a misplaced pin is a frequent cause of "address differs" even when the text is right.
- If you have several locations, use the Locations structure (a main Page with location Pages) so each one carries its own address and phone.
Changing the Page name
Open the About tab, choose Name and request the change. Meta reviews name changes and limits how often they can happen. The name must be the business's real name; adding a city or a slogan is the usual reason for rejection.
Duplicate or unofficial Pages
- You manage both Pages. Use Merge Pages in the Page settings. You must be an admin of both and they must have the same name and address. Followers and check-ins move to the Page you keep; the other Page's posts, photos, reviews and username are deleted permanently, so keep the Page whose content you cannot lose and read Meta's merge requirements first.
- Someone else's Page describes your business. Facebook creates unofficial Pages from check-ins. Open it and look for Is this your business? to claim it, then merge it into your real Page.
Check it worked
When the change is live, run a fresh NAP audit. NAPCHKR finds your Facebook listing through Google search results and compares the phone number Google shows for it, so the row should read Phone matches with no duplicate flag. Name, address and website on Facebook are not compared automatically: open the listing from the row and check those by eye. Google can take a few days to re-crawl the page after you edit it.
