How to fix your business listing on Nextdoor

Part of the NAP audit fix guides · Updated 2026-10-17

Nextdoor Business Pages appear when neighbors recommend you, so a page often exists before the owner has touched it. NAPCHKR reads the page directly, and changes you make show up on the next audit as soon as Nextdoor publishes them, which is usually immediately.

Claim the page

  1. Go to nextdoor.com/create-business. Either add the page to your existing neighbor account (profile photo, then Add Business Page) or create a separate business account with a different email.
  2. Search for your business by name and address. If a page already exists, choose Claim; if not, create it and confirm the address.
  3. An existing page is verified by a phone call or text to the business number Nextdoor has on record. The call will not get through a phone tree, an extension or a Google Voice number, so use a direct line. A page you have just created, or one Nextdoor cannot match to the business, is verified by uploading a business document from your account settings instead.

Edit the details

  1. Open the Page tab and choose Edit.
  2. Correct the business name, Address, Phone number, Website and hours so they match your Google Business Profile.
  3. Tick Show above address in contact information if customers visit you; leave it unticked for a home-based business, which also matches how Google hides a service-area address.
  4. Save. Changes publish straight away.

Common problems

  • Two pages for one business. Nextdoor support can combine them; contact them from the help center rather than deleting one, so recommendations are kept.
  • Several locations. Create one page per location, each with its own address, so neighbors can tell them apart. An account can manage several pages.
  • Verification fails. If the phone route fails, switch to document verification in your account settings; a business license, utility bill or similar document in the business's name is accepted.

Check it worked

When the change is live, run a fresh NAP audit. The Nextdoor row should read Matches; if it still shows a difference after the review period above, open the listing from the row and compare it against your Google Business Profile. A ≈ next to a field means a small formatting difference the audit noted but did not count.
