How to fix your business details on Tripadvisor
Tripadvisor lists hotels, restaurants, attractions, tours and other businesses travelers use. If you are a dentist or a roofer and the Tripadvisor row says "Not found", that is expected and nothing needs fixing. For travel businesses, NAPCHKR reads Tripadvisor's own data, so corrections appear on the next audit once Tripadvisor publishes them.
Claim the listing
- Go to tripadvisor.com/Owners, search for your business and choose Claim your listing.
- Verify that you represent the business. For most listings this is a call or text to the publicly listed phone number; if that number is wrong, use the Request update option during verification to correct it first. Some business types are offered other methods.
- Once verified you have access to the Management Center, on the web or in the Tripadvisor Owner app under the Me tab.
If the business is not listed at all, request a listing through Get listed on tripadvisor.com. Tripadvisor only lists businesses relevant to travelers.
Edit the details
- In the Management Center, open Manage listing.
- Under Name and description (the label varies by business type) you can change the phone number, website and email directly, and request a name change.
- Address and location changes are not always self-service. If the field is locked, go to Help & Settings, Contact Tripadvisor, and submit an Update listing details request with the correct address.
Phone and website edits are usually live within a day. Name and address changes are reviewed by Tripadvisor staff and can take several days to a couple of weeks.
Common problems
- A duplicate listing. Submit an Owner Support request marked as a duplicate, naming both listings. Tripadvisor merges them so reviews are kept.
- The listing is for the previous owner or a former name. Claim it and request a name change rather than creating a new listing; otherwise the old one keeps ranking with the wrong details.
- Phone format. Tripadvisor stores the international format; NAPCHKR compares digits, so "+1 602-555-0100" and "(602) 555-0100" match.
Check it worked
When the change is live, run a fresh NAP audit. The Tripadvisor row should read Matches; if it still shows a difference after the review period above, open the listing from the row and compare it against your Google Business Profile. A ≈ next to a field means a small formatting difference the audit noted but did not count.
